With its breathtaking position overlooking the Stour Valley this Victorian country house hotel has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment. Maison Talbooth opened in spring 2008 with renewed vigour and a great deal of wow factor. Three new suites have been built on the second floor making 12 bedrooms in all, many with beautiful views over the Dedham Vale. The relaxing pool house area comes complete with outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, stoop deck with log-burning fire (perfect for cooler evenings) and tennis court. Guests can also pamper body and soul in the Maison's day spa. The Treatment Rooms offer a wide variety of therapies by Dermalogica. Directions by car:From London:Turn off M25 at Brentwood onto A12. Continue on A12 towards Ipswich, bypassing Colchester. Take the left exit signposted Stratford St Mary, Dedham and Higham. For Maison Talbooth Hotel - Turn right at bottom of Gun hill to Dedham, over bridge, hotel is approx. 900yds along on the right. From Ipswich:A12 - Having passed sign to East Bergholt, continue down hill and take left exit to Stratford St Mary and Dedham.
